| Protective Radiator Guard |
From: Todd I have made a stainless steel radiator grill to protect the venerable grill from rock damage. I used 1/16" perforated stainless steel for 2 reasons - strong and rustproof. I cut (Dremel will work faster than saw) it to 15" by 6 1/2". Then I bent the ends to curve back around the radiator to get rid of the rough edges. I put double sided foam sticky tape on the lip between the fins and the cooling ends of the radiator. The tape provides a non-chaffing and adhesive area to help hold the grill in place. You can use any color of zipties to hold it into place, I chose what was laying around in the garage, besides the SVS will have the fairing hiding them. Todd |
