$10 Front end stand

Here are some photos of my $10 front end stand. It is made from angle iron, some 3/8 inch steel rod stock, and a few scraps of steel tubing and fender washers. It bolts firmly into place and is pretty solid, although it could be made even more stable by the addition of legs which stick out perpendicular to the bike. An easy afternoon's project, this makes fork tube and front end removal a breeze.

This is an addition to the already good front end stand. Instead of actually buying the angle iron and bolting all that stuff together. If you happen to have a couple of automotive jack stands laying around, all you would need to buy is the half inch steel rod. Just male sure that you place the jack stands in as close as possible to limit the amount of flex you will have in the steel rod. Works Great! I also welded myself a swingarm stand, but that is alot more envolved and you need at minimum an oxygen/acetalyne setup. An arc welder would be preferred.
