"NEW" - GO TO MODS.2

From: Mike
Date: Monday, June 25, 2001

Rob,

Here is my Suzuki SV650 with the full faring kit from Airtech, completely painted and hung. I love the way this fairing looks. Every place I go people can not figure out what kind of bike it is. They just all comment on how great it looks and how there is nothing on the road that even comes close to looking like it.

The test:
After mounting the fairing I went for a little ride around town, mostly doing 45-55 m.p.h. There was something I was not used to on this bike. I was not getting all the wind in my chest. They faring was very solid and did not rattle of squeak a bit. Well this turned to be a mild test compared to the ride me and two friends took last Saturday. It was not before long the we were on the highway hitting 80+ m.p.h. All I have to say is WOW! I did not feel like I was getting blasted off the bike and my helmet was not about to tear of my head if I lifted up too high. About 5 minutes and open highway later we were way, way beyond the triple digit mark. I can't believe how much top end I got out of the bike with the Renegade pipes and the K&N air filter. I ended up tucking behind the fairing to get out of the wind. Still, there was not a slightest bit of noise coming from the fairing. It felt very solid! Well after about 10 minutes of triple digit flying, we slowed down and stopped at a rest area. I checked the bike over and found not one thing wrong with the body work. No cracks or stress marks! I was sold! The fairing held up flawlessly for the rest of the 250 mile trip. This little stress test, showed that the construction quality for the fairing was more then just in the looks.

I just want to thank Airtech for making this fairing look so unique and Bill at Airtech for shipping my parts when he said he would. If you are going to get this fairing you have to be patient. Airtech has been having supplier problems for the brackets to hang the fairing. Some people have been e-mailing me about the problem with Airtech. Well it is not Airtech it is their suppliers. Also I would like to thank Pat at New Again Collisions in Pontiac, Michigan for doing an excellent job on the paint work. Perfect! Last, thanks to Jim at Rapier Racing Industries for the many beers while helping with this entire project. I soon plan on adding a Ohlin rear shock and a set of Dunlop D207 GP's .If anyone has any questions about how the brackets go in place or anything else, just drop me a e-mail.

Thanks
Mike

Hey Guys, Its Justin Garvin #168 from 2000.

I wanted to get you all pictures of the new bodywork that we have for the SV's. The upper is very similar to an R6 and is ram-air capable. It uses a R6 windscreen, and we have even test fitted R6 headlights in the upper with some modification (mounting brackets) to make it streetable. The tail you can do basically the same, but you just use the stock taillight, and if you don't have R6 headlights just lying around you can mount up some of those cool little oval projector beams fairly easily.

The best thing of all is that if you already have sharskinz and want a different look or are looking for ram-air capability this upper mounts right to a sharkskinz lower. Anyway here is a picture of the new upper and the prices went up slightly from last year because of materials.

The new prices are as follows:
Upper =$190
Lower=$170
Tailsection=$140
Total for all is $500

Here is a picture of a new racer Steve Guzman of FL. Using our new R6 Lookalike bodywork that uses a standard R6 windscreen. He was able to come away with a 2nd place finish in LWSB at Roebling RD this weekend and I believe 2 other top 5 finishes on his first time out racing. Very good, if I don't watch out he will be chasing me down soon in AMA Superbike.

P.S. I was able to come away with a 6th place in Exp. HWSS on my new GSXR 750 for my first time out since Oct. at Daytona

I'd like to give you an update because we have some new items and some prices have changed. Also I'll attach some photo's to show our products. The brand is TCP Aerodynamics from Spain.

We can supply a lower fairing, undertray, belly pan, hugger with chainguard, fender around rear tyre and a buddy cover for the Suzuki SV650.

The lower fairing will only fit the SV650S (with the original top fairing). It's painted in the original colour, complete with fittingkit and instructions in English.

Fitting is very easy because we use the original places of the bike, so no welding or changing of the frame. The parts are made of the same material as the original fenders and side plates. Also the parts have Tuv, which is a well known German safety certificate.

  • Price for the lower fairing 849 Dutch guilders (US $ 394)
  • Undertray 495 Dutch guilders (US $ 230).
  • Belly pan 649 Dutch guilders (301).
  • Fender around rear tyre 359 Dutch guilders (167).
  • Hugger 399 Dutch guilders (185).
  • Buddy seat cover 299 Dutch guilders (139).
  • Shipment costs are 85 Dutch guilders (39).

Of course this depends on the country to where we have to ship it. Shipping is no problem, we've shipped to USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Lithuania, Denmark etc. When it's in stock, delivery will take around 5 days. Payment by creditcard is not yet possible. At the moment we work with money transfer by bank. This is safe, easy and fast. When you want to order we need the colourcode of the bike. Your dealer can give you that code.

Great web site! It sure is polished and slick compared to most MC enthusiast sites. I ride a Bandit 1200, so I enjoy reading about other Suzukis. You site is very professional, and a pleasure to read!

My name is Laura Sims, and I run Riderhaus, a small, home based business here in Germany. I export quality motorcycle accessories direct from Europe to riders in North America. We have a several items specifically for SV650 riders.

We are currently shipping the German-made Five Stars luggage racks for the SV650. Five Stars are high quality, German-made, tubular steel side- and top luggage racks. These very strong, compact units accept standard Givi cases. The top rack can be mounted independent of the side racks to make a handsome luggage rack. The racks are much higher quality than other units, and are the overwhelming favorite for the majority of German riders. Additionally, we can deliver the Five Stars racks for prices that are competitive with other luggage options. Five Stars also makes engine case guards for the SV650.

We are also adding SW-MoTech luggage racks to our product line soon. These are top-notch racks that can be completely and easily removed without any tools, using only a key. They add Givi hard luggage convenience to the SV without sacrificing appearance.

  • Here's the prices for the SV650 Five Stars racks:
  • Five Stars side racks: $125 US+shipping
  • Five Stars top racks: $98 US+shipping
  • Five Stars engine guards: $90 US+shipping

Shipping rates to anywhere in the US:

  • One toprack or set of engine guards $25 US
  • One toprack and one set of sideracks $37 US
  • One toprack, one set of sideracks, and one set of engine guards $37 US

Please see our humble website for more details, and a few small pictures of these SV650 products. http://riderhaus.com

Many thanks! I look forward to hearing from SVRiders!

Here are a few photos of the Fastbag luggage system fitted to my SV. Beneath the locking hard cover are two compartments, an upper area for fragile items (or items you wish to access quickly), and a lower expandable section. Fully expanded, the bag will hold 60 liters of gear.

Six colors are available: the carbon-look shown here, a Ducati-like red, a blue similar to the R1, silver, yellow, and green. The unit requires no permanent mounting hardware, and can be moved from bike to bike easily. It's highly water-resistant, and comes with two removable inner bags, a first-aid kit, and a fanny-pack with velcro attachments, for mounting to the front or inside of the hard shell. Captive strap pads prevent scratching of your bodywork. It can be carried as a backpack when off the bike.

The Fastbag has been selling very well in Europe, but we’re new in the U.S. and just now beginning to set up our dealer network. Our first shipment is due to arrive here in mid-December. MSRP is $359 including shipping, but orders placed by November 15th, 2000 will ship at $299 including shipping and sales tax. We do sell direct as well as through dealers, see contact info below. These prices are available only to U.S. customers, residents of other countries please see our website at www.fastbag.com for ordering info.

Pic #1: detail of the carbon-look bag, collapsed. Pic #2: collapsed bag on bike, still plenty of room for msic items in this configuration. Pic #3: a weekends’ worth of gear. Pic #4: all the gear from pic 3 is in the bag in this photo; note that the bag is less than half expanded at this point. More images and details are available at www.fastbag.com

To place your order or obtain more information, contact us at the below address, and be sure to ask about our cash-back customer referral program. Dealer inquiries welcome.

Dear SV 650 owners,

We made contact awhile back regarding the Scotts steering stabilizer for your application. We wanted to let you know we will have a complete "bolt-on kit" available for your bike now. The testing and final fitting took longer than we thought but the results were worth it. We have had more-than-outstanding feed back with racers, regular street users and Sport Bike Magazines.

The kit we've made for this model is currently requiring the use after market "clip-on" bars. Why? All of the requests we received were for clip on conversions. If you want a kit for the using the standard high rise bars, let us know, because at this point we have not had any requests for that style of kit.

Here's a photo of our kit mounted on the GSXR 750 to give you an idea of the finished look on the SV650.

We've also gained the confidence of the Yamaha factory R6 race bikes, as they have used our stabilizer set up throughout the entire 1999-2000 race season.

The complete stabilizer kit for this model sells for $449 and includes everything you need with the exception of the clip on bars. Installation time is approximately 15 minutes and no drilling is required, it simply bolts on, after you've installed the clip-on type bars.

Please let us know if you have any questions at all, or if we can help in any way.

thanks and best regards,
Scott
