08 SV650S OEM Seat Cowl Info/Pics

It took me some time searching this forum, asking questions and searching the net to get info on a rear seat cowl info, pricing and pics.

So I put together a quick web page for the Suzuki OEM 03-08 SV650/S SV1000/S Seat Cowl, Part # 45500-16862-_ _ _ (the last three letters are the color code) with some info and pics, before and after so as riders can see what it looks like etc.

The link is at ... http://sv650.metromain.net/index.php?x=cowl. Below is a quick pic of the finished result.

Hope this helps in some way for newer or even long time SV riders wanting the OEM rear seat cowl.

The look is very clean but I like having the option of being able to give someone a ride at a moments notice.

What do you do about a helmet for a passanger on a moments notice? I've wondered about that as there have been times I've thought about offering someone a ride.

Most of the people I talk to have helmets already so it isn't an issue. If I am in a pinch, man i'm gonna get burned here for this, I will give her mine. I ride super conservative with a passanger. If we go down, at least she will be protected.

Good man....thats what i would do if it was an extremely desperate situation and i didnt live in a helmet law state. Ide be scared out of my mind riding like that though.

The OEM cowl only comes in Suzi SV production colors from what I remember seeing when I was searching. Most probably would need to get it painted. Painting was not realy an option for me, I live in Podunk, USA and did not want to part with any more $$$ for painting anyway.

This reminds me. I have an '08 cowl, the blue one, and no longer have the bike. I should post it up in the sale section.

They should make it with backpack straps so the passenger can wear it....oh wait, then there'd be no spot for the passenger to sit except on an open hole...oh well!
