Re: Project - Gas Mileage contest
Well, I get home tomorrow so my SV will be going Plaid when it comes to mileage. First tank doesn't count since it's been sitting for a month.

Re: Project - Gas Mileage contest
I check my mileage every time I fill up, and average between 54 and 56 MPG on my 02 S
99% of my riding is commuting on super slab, 25 miles of 75+ speeds and about 8 miles of in town stop and go riding.

Seems like the mileage is better at faster rather than slower highway speeds... i would have thought different due to wind resistance.
Is it cuz the bike is more efficient at higher RPM?

Re: Project - Gas Mileage contest
I got 54 mpg on my last tankful. That's on an '04 naked, hauling my 200+ pounds around.

Yup, I keep a spreedsheet. I record the miles on the tank, gallons put in and what the mpg is every time I fill up! my '05 SV650S is averaging 57.4 mpg over 8k miles. I've seen a high of 65.9 and a low of 48.1 mpg.

Yeah. 30 day temp tag, but it's been folded up in my wallet. I am actually surprised that none of the several cops that pulled up behind me never pulled me over. When my car's tags expire, bam! I get pulled over in a matter of seconds...but, apparently a seemingly unlicensed bike is A-OK.
I paid my taxes and title fees today, and now have a shiny new license plate on my bike.

I've also gone up one tooth on both front and rear sprockets before I was averaging around 50MPG I'm also only 150lbs so I'm sure that helps a little

Re: Project - Gas Mileage contest
I just filled up and I know I said this tank wouldn't count since it was sitting for a month but here are the numbers:
Miles since last fill-up: 181.0
Gallons to bottom of fill neck: 2.982
MPG: 60.70 (rounded to two significant figures)
This includes about 60 miles two-up.
Mods: Traxxion Dynamics "drop-in" damper rod kit, Sonic Springs, 10W fork oil, '06 GSX-R1000 shock swap w/ 1/2" raising links, Zero Gravity double bubble windscreen and an SVRider sticker on the sub-frame.
New tires ore going on next weekend as well as a slip-on (as soon as I decide, the leovince isn't as cheap as I thought).
