Lower Kickstand

Hello All,
I just bought an 04SV650, and need a shorter kickstand, as I had the bike lowered 1.5" and when parked, the bike sits up pretty straight, which equals really really easy to tip it over by accident. Who makes shorter kickstands?

Or should I just hack an inch off the stock one and weld the bottom tab back on?

Thanks for any links & suggestions!

I have seen them belt before, but its really not that expensive to have it shortened appropriotely (aka +3 for hack and weld).

You can't just bend tubing, it will kink and look like crap. If you're near Philly bring me an offering of food and beer and I can hook you up.

Or one from a CBR600 F2 or F3, they are little stubby ones....

Re: Lower Kickstand

Ok all you + hack & weld...
I've got some guys in the shop I work at that have welding equipment and they've offered to do the job for me...
Is there a special type of weld that needs to be done?
There is quite a bit of weight being placed on the stand, I don't want it to break at the weld point.
Has anyone actually done this?
Just torch the bottom off, torch a section off, and weld the bottom part back on?
