Gsxr swingarm and shock conversion

I have been scouring the interweb and can't seem to find anything specific to the year models of gsxr swingarms at swap over to my 2000 sv650 with little to no custom work (I.e, mounting brackets, machining, etc). I know that I can swap the front end with almost any gsxr model from 06-09, but what about the rear end????? If anyone can point me in the right directions I'd be greatly appreciative!

The swingarm can't be done without a lot of machining and custom work. There are a few swingarm conversions that people on here have done and none of them were easy.

For google try searching "site:twfracing.com swingarm" and you will find some info on some measurements and a couple of people that have done it as well.

Kudos....I've seen a zx6r rear end but it looks exactly like my stock swingarm so I'm not too interested...I have access to a machine shop so cutting or shortening stuff doesn't bother me too too much

I have a 2000 GSXR 600 swingarm if you are interested, however I believe that it is too short and the incorrect width. If you want some measurements let me know. It's available.

05' SV650 with an 07' ZX6R swingarm.
This was probably one of the easier conversions of swingarms. I did NO grinding or welding.......yet. I need to have an exhaust made up still. But that was pretty much the only thing that will need to be welded or ground.

stainless steel flex pipe for the temporary exhaust till I get one fabbed up. I don't know how to weld soooooo, I'm going to have to have one done up.

As someone who is also unable to weld, that is awesome.

You should play it off like a hip kid, say it's a steampunk motif.

What is the reason for swapping swing arms? Is the stock flexy or just to be custom?

I did it just to do something else. Racers were looking at it as an alternative if they had the parts. To me it just looks nicer.

Ah, thanks for the reply.
I have wondered if the swing arms are flexy as I thought that I have felt it flex, it's probably my over active brain or possibly a tire pressure thing.
I did actually search for it once or twice but never came up with much.

If flex were the issue, it'd likely be cheaper/easier to have a brace installed.

However without some smarty-pants math regarding the desired amount of flex, type of brace material and design to provide amount of flex and considerations as to how welding may effect the overall integrity of the swingarm.. it'd probably be a "best guess" endeavour (atleast for the average joe enthusiast).

^You do make several good points on the fabrication end. The picture shows I may not be the only one that feels there is some flex.
Is this you're bike or know who's it is?
I think I'll dig around in the racing thread and see if they have any info on it.
I don't really think it affects my riding but it is in the back of mind so maybe it is.

I'm too slow to require any fancy bits
