Swapping for a 2nd gen engine

I've done a "little" bit of research on this topic, but only found stuff on putting a 1st gen in a 2nd gen frame but it's it possible to put a 2003+ motor in a 2002 frame?

Re: Swapping for a 2nd gen engine

It's worth it you only have to swap out a few parts. Next sv I build will have a 2nd gen engine in a first gen frame. This thread covers it well -

Unique yes, but seems like it would more of a pain than what its worth.
If you could adapt the FI system, thats a whole other topic.
