Sargent seats for Canadian butts

Hi all,

Where do all you Canadians buy Sargent seats? I've been looking but I haven't found any sellers with reasonable shipping costs, and I can't really justify paying $100 to have the thing shipped...

My arse would greatly appreciate your suggestions.

Is it really $100 for shipping direct? That's robbery...

I think it might be something like $60 from Sargent, and maybe more from retailers. Anyway, I bought one off another member, and I'm now waiting the obligatory month for it to clear customs.

Yeah it is $60... but still that is too much on top of the what... $300 you spend on it...

If I couldn't stand my seat I'd do like many others do and send it to that Spencer dude from "great day to ride" http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php

This time of year it is a non issue to be without a seat for a week or two... and many people rave over the modification he does to the seats for them.

and it is relatively inexpensive too.

Re: Sargent seats for Canadian butts

I've heard good things about him too. I was trying to decide between buying a Sargent seat, or sending it off for some custom work (or trying the work on my own). I figured I'd look for a used Sargent on sale and went with one I found. I'm doing a 10,000km trip, and I've just heard such great things about Sargent. I'll have to review it when I get back! Assuming it clears customs.......

An alternative option is to just pick up some sort of squishy cover, and fasten it securely. Hardcore peeps will tell you that you don't want a soft seat, but rather a well formed, firm seat. For all us student types, that translates to "expensive".
