I have been a huge fan of the gen2 frame and the FI that came along with the 03 to the present SV's. It may have been because I was afraid of tuning a carb engine. With that said. You have changed my mind......That is with out a doubt the sweetest SV I have ever seen. Well, with the exception of mine.... of course. So never, ever think of painting your bike blue.............

Thanks for the comments folks. This was the first build I've attempted and there were a lot of areas I'd never touched before, so I played it safe in terms of the mods and stuck to what has been done many times before. SRAD front end on an SV isn't breaking new ground but, as I'd never even seen a head bearing before I started, I wasn't up for blazing new trails. :)

I did everything on this except paint the bodywork and fit the tyres.

Mods list (as best as I can remember);

GSXR 750 SRAD Forks, triples, clipons, fender, wheel, discs. 600 SRAD four pot calipers. Re-used SV controls and brake m/c.
Poly 26 Seat Unit
2005 ZX10R Rear Shock
CB900 Headlight
Wheels Painted w/ polished rims
Stainless bolts pretty much everywhere (except load bearing)
Acewell 2856AP Speedo/Tach
GB Moto Rearsets
Rizoma Front Brake Reservoir
HRC Rear Brake Reservoir
R&G Exhaust Hanger
Mivv X-Cone End can
Keyless Fuel Cap
*********** Radiator cover
Paint - House of Kolor Kandy Apple Red over gold metajuls fine flakes with Ice Pearl on the stripes.

It's made in France by Poly26. I've always liked their stuff but I've only seen one other guy in the UK use any of it - a retro style bikini fairing.

It was hard work for me and the painter. The undertray was badly out of symmetry so I had to make some careful cuts to balance it up. The finish of the fibreglass wasn't great - you could see daylight through it in places - but we couldn't use too much filler because the seat stretches when fitted on the bike.

There's not much about them on the net in English but I've found a few French forum discussions about them. They've got a reputation for making nice looking things, badly. My French isn't great but I now know what "qualite de merde" means. :sbmfacepalm:

It nearly got a hammer through it a couple of times but I'm really glad I persevered with it. And I'm glad I got a pro painter to do it - he's managed a finish I couldn't have got near to.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I used alot of info from this site when I was doing the build and always check out the SVOTM winners. To be considered in that group would be pretty special. How many random, pointless posts do I need to make? ;D
