Absolutely. I totally get where your´re coming from with this.

As I see your car mishap hasn´t impaired your determination. Good luck with the rest of your build progress.

Ciao

Re: Bryce's k2 Naked Build

Here's the picture of my new sprockets. I also ordered a new sheild for my bucket. It's shiny!! Picking up the rear wheel Monday. Don't know what took the shop so long.

I got some Easy Off Heavy Duty degreaser to clean up the SSSA. That's some nasty ****. It works great, but you better be real careful with it. Picked up some mother's polish and steel wool, so when I get bored, i'm going to try and polish the swinger a little bit.

Haven't gotten my tail light in, nor have I taken off the tank/ subframe/ front wheel. So my goal of EOM might end up being first week of May.

Re: Bryce's k2 Naked Build

Well, today at work was slow, so I got off pretty early. So I finally got the tank and subframe off. Probably drop the tank off Monday to get the dent pulled and repainted. I am not sure when I'll get around to the subframe. I checked the tracking info and the tail light should be here next week.

Short list of what's left to do, but it's hefty, and probably expensive:
-Get tank fixed/painted
-Get subframe finished/ powder coated
-Take off front wheel/ refinished
-Get new rubber
-SSSA conversion
-Put everything back together.

Yeah, peice of cake right?

A real Naked bike:

More to remove, and clean up the hack job:

Not that noticible, right??

Re: Bryce's k2 Naked Build

Sorry, no pics today. However, got VFR rim back, turned out great! Lighter than I thought, but it will look perfect when I'm done. Dropped it off to get rubber mounted/balanced, get it back wed.

Talked to a shop about doing the SSSA conversion. I am having someone do it because I don't feel my mechanical ability is enough to go effing around with the frame. Guy at the shop said it should be straight forward and not take to long to knock out.

Was going to drop my tank off to get the dent pulled and painted, but the body shop my friend recommended is now nonexistent. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

Oh, got an email from eGay. My tail light is out of stock and it will be longer now before it comes in. Fricken lovely. Oh well. Sights are set on first weekend of May now.

Re: Bryce's k2 Naked Build

No pics today.
Dropped off tank and fender at a friend of the family's body shop.

Hyundai has a carbon/titanium metallic that I think is going to give me a ncie look. Lots of flake to it. Guy said it should be done in a week - week and a half.

Re: Bryce's k2 Naked Build

No pics today, just a little update.

Talked with the painters, going to add a little color and detail to the scheme. Going with Hyundai's venetian red metallic for details. Also, going to drop off the little side cover things that go under the seat and have them painted dark titanium as well.

Haven't had a chance to get the bike to the shop to get the swinger put on. The majority of my department was on drill this past week so I racked up a **** ton of OT, should help pay for this project. That being said, haven't got the front wheel to powder, and haven't touched the subframe. I am taking a 4day weekend this weekend, so should get a lot done.

Hopefully pics to come Sunday?

Paint is done. Picking everything up Monday.

No word on the swing arm yet. Hopefully next week.
