Re: Gladius Vid

Oh and for the bit depth, im no expert , i just watched a few vids on editing to see how to do it... just needed the basics at first, and one guy suggested changing that in Vegas pro..... and its hugely different result when you do it in this software, much more detail. I save it in windoows media 11 format 720 30fps , 6mbps .

Re: Gladius Vid

Only thing i did differently was that 8bit to 32 full setting in vegas pro. everything else the same.

The first vid itself was a tad washed out with sunlight i think.

Re: Gladius Vid

Another theory why the first one was blocky and the second one was more crisp is the fact that in the first one most parts of the video are moving a lot on the screen at high speed. In the second clip a large part of the screen is showing you, and you're not moving around in the image as much in comparison to the speed the bike is moving compared to the road. Therefor in the later movie the adaptive compression can do a better job of putting much data amount on the parts with much motion, and less on you, and still give a crisp result. The first movie everything is moving and it has to put a relatively low amount of data on almost all parts of the movie which results in a blocky end result.

Bit-depth at 8-bit per pixel with R, G and B channel is quite standard when working with computer graphics. Only times you every really use more is usually with HDR photography or really high cost productions I suppose. Actually now that I think about it, much HDR photography is done with multiple shots with different exposures. Then composed into a format with several images in one. Still probably at 8-bit per channel.

Re: Gladius Vid

Also. Many areas of your jacket are quite monotone with hardly any color variation or that much change in value either. This is good compression wise.

Re: Gladius Vid

If you look at the source material, are there any big difference between your first video and the second one? If there is then there's not much to do about it. If the first videos source material is crisp then you've still got a possibility to improve your editing and compressing.

Re: Gladius Vid

Looks pretty cool. It's impressive to see how much the front suspension is working without much effect on the cameras motion, ie. they do a good job of suspending inobtrusively.

Re: Gladius Vid

It's the big mass on the bike absorbing all the bumps so the camera doesn't shake Kodde !

Re: Gladius Vid

Well not only. Front fork suspension does a pretty good job as well.
