Re: "My Green Connector Melted" rebuild

So looks like its winter once again.....on April 1st. Sweet.

Btw if you cover your bike dont waste money on a cover (outside coverers need not apply you need waterproof, this is only for inside coverers. Sorry.) queen size sheets tuck 360deg around from tire to tire.

Re: "My Green Connector Melted" rebuild

Bored with the exhaust already. I want the look of my open tail back, and its just not loud enough.....stay tuned......again

And plainer, simpler, photos coming soon to show off some of the finer details and to get every angle accounted for.

Couple unedited photos to show some finer detail. More pics coming after I finish up the new exhaust and sprockets.

Re: "My Green Connector Melted" rebuild

Comments on the new exhaust.....

It was a mess. My carbon fiber Delkevik was severely cracked from gong down and I didnt notice until the carbon fiber started melting. I had to shorten the whole thing, so I cut off 12 inches and it looks mean. Repacked it, shortened the caged tube inside, and only thing left to do is re-rivet the one end back on and reconfigure the exhaust ONE more time (BTW, if anyone knows where to get a new stainless steel band let me know)

The ebay GP pipe came and it was as expected....CRAP.....I oprdered a black one, but it looked like some fool just took one of the chrome ones and sprayed it black, so obviously the paint was chipping and the chrome was showing, so i repainted everything with high tem p paint.

I took it for a spin and liked the way it sounded. Loud, mean, and oh so obnoxious. ABout a mile from home, the exhaust burps, and its the sweet sound of straight pipe. Iget home and notcie the baffle is missing. I ride back down, find it, and bring it home. Took the pipe off and repacked it with some fiberglass I had laying around. I packed it too tight at first because I took the bike out and on full throttle it basically made noise and barely hit 40....not good....so after a couple of repacks I found the perfect solution, and she pulls like bat out of hell whiile screaming like the meanest SOB around. It was a pain, but it was cheap for the time being so after some work the above pictures are what I have.

More to come later. Hopefully I can get the sprockets installed this weekend and tow the bike to have the chain installed.

Re: "My Green Connector Melted" rebuild

Little work done today.....

My chain was flinging rust dust, kinking, and streched worse tyan Oprahs stomach. I went 16t up front (pitbull) and 41 in back (driven) with an ek xring gold chain. I installed the sprockets and now i just need someOne with the tool to install ny chain.

Rust dust:

Kinky and rusty:

Sprocket off and cleaned the carrier (not pictured):

New vs old: my stock sprocket wasnt too bad after 15k miles i really see no sign of wear so i guess i took decent care of it:

This is your svees best friend. I keep this at home, and the travel siZe in my tail:

Rear installed:

Front installed:

Re: "My Green Connector Melted" rebuild

Pics to come, but new chain is on and the sprockets are the best upgrade next to the clutch basket. Love it.

Time to put a chain guard back on too.
